Low Carb Ladybug Newsletter

August 2012

About Me

Welcome to the second edition of the Low Carb Ladybug Newsletter.  This past month has been very busy...I refinanced my home, bought a new car and started back on induction.  I have set a goal to lose 25 pounds by my September birthday and will be tweaking my diet to accomplish this.  I will update my progress next month.  If you would like to know more about me, check out my Low Carb Success Story, written by Amy Dungan at Carb Smart.

Low Carb 101-Who's ready for OWL?

So you have completed the first two week Induction period and you are trying to decide if you should move on to Ongoing Weight Loss (OWL). The main objective of OWL is to allow for additional food choices and gradually increase your carbs, while continuing to lose weight. For some people, myself included, keeping their net carbs below 20 is the only way they are able to continue to lose.  Everybody is different and only you can decide what level works for you.  Here are some links to help learn more about OWL and decide if you are ready to move on.

Sugar and Sweeteners

No doubt if you are reading this newsletter you have sugar issues. I believe that sugar is highly addictive and that even sweeteners can trigger my sugar cravings.

Jimmy Moore’s Livin’ La Vida Low Carb Show interview with Dr. Rod Tayler was especially interesting to me and got me researching sugar/sweeteners. Here is a link to the pod cast and to Dr. Taylers web site.
